"When you make peace with yourself, you make peace with the world" As adults, we are responsible for changing things not because we are to blame for these things, but because we are the only ones who CAN change them. That can feel unfair, and it is. But it can also be empowering- you are the catalyst for personal change, you can always take a turn or step in a different direction, you can always act differently, feel differently, and (with the right tools and assistance) heal. I am here to help you with this noble work. As a mental health professional, I am passionate about helping others feel more whole, hopeful and effective by developing deeper self-knowledge, self-respect, compassion, resilience and coping skills. How I roll, clinically: I lean heavily on the long term goal of self mastery (and self compassion) which is central to DBT- I encourage and guide the exploration of how one's beliefs, thoughts, and expectations of the world contribute to personal difficulties. I challenge individuals to question their automatic thoughts and assumptions dialectally to arrive at more moderate or wise interpretations. Significant attention is paid to developing stress management and interpersonal effectiveness skills. For couples: I offer strength's based and solution-focused secular couples counseling. (If you and your partner are persons of a specific faith background, know that I support all things that unite you with each other but will respectfully defer to you to establish and reaffirm your shared faith values in session)* I offer guidance, mediation, coaching and communication skills practice for more effective communication and conflict management. I provide practical scripts, strategies, tools and education tailored to your unique challenges and history to help you both outside of session. While I do accept select insurances for the initial assessment, subsequent sessions are cash pay only- $185 per 60 min session, $200 for 90min*
