Introduction

Glenn Maloney has been a psychotherapist in the Duluth, Minnesota community for nearly ten years, and provided Social Work Case Management services in our community for five years before that. He opened his private practice, Most Excellent Psychotherapy, in 2024. Glenn has a Masters of Social Work from the College of Saint Scholastica, a Certificate in Substance Use Studies from Mesabi North Community College, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communication and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Glenn is trained in therapy methods including Dialectical Behavioral (DBT), Solutions Focused (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Relational Cultural (RCT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR); Glenn is certified in DBT. Glenn's approach is based on humor and creative thinking, acknowledging that we must craft your journey toward higher levels of wellness together. Glenn presents on the use of humor in psychotherapy nationally, and teaches new therapists in a Master's of Social Work program. Apart from being a psychotherapist, Glenn is partnered, and has one teenaged daughter as well as two dogs. Glenn loves writing, and has published two books, as well as hiking, camping, being outdoors, reading, running, listening to hip hop, and collecting vinyl records.
