Feeling safe and understood is crucial to good mental health and well-being. As a relational therapist, I know that clicking with a therapist who “gets” you – one you trust can help you - is the foundation for successful therapy. I'm here to help you experience more fulfilling relationships, live more fully in the present, and find the best parts of yourself. My clients describe me as passionate, relatable, and "gentle but fun." I'm not fond of awkward silences – therapy should feel comfortable, like an ongoing, interactive conversation. While the process usually involves facing some challenging feelings, I think it is just as important to laugh as to cry in therapy. I have been a licensed therapist since 1999. I received a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers University and a clinical doctoral degree (DSW) from the University of Pennsylvania. I've worked with individuals, couples, and families in various inpatient and outpatient settings and have built successful practices in Monmouth, Camden, and Atlantic Counties. I am also the founder of the GIA Institute of Psychotherapy, a private group practice and learning institute dedicated to advancing the quality and effectiveness of therapy. At GIA, we see children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Our clients face challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, problems with romantic partners or family, life transitions, or internal struggles. To ensure the best possible match, we'll schedule a consultation to discuss your specific needs and preferences. We'll consider your cultural background, identity, goals, and financial situation to connect you with a therapist who is the ideal fit.
