I seek to know my clients deeply and without judgment, to welcome all parts of them, especially the scarier and less well-liked parts. This experience of being truly seen and accepted can lead to greater self-understanding and can help you to feel more fully alive. Clients who have found the most satisfaction in their work with me include those experiencing mood or anxiety symptoms; histories of relational and developmental trauma; stuckness with personal growth, identity, and life transitions, and partner relationship struggles. In addition to one-on-one therapy, I believe strongly in the power of group therapy as a tool for growth, and I often encourage my clients to consider joining one of my groups. The best therapists are those who actively pursue personal and professional growth. I regularly pursue training and consultation in the theoretical areas that most inform my clinical practice, including contemporary psychoanalytic thought, attachment theory, and interpersonal neurobiology. Because the most impactful aspect of therapy is the interpersonal relationship, I actively work on my own wellness, self-awareness, and emotional capacity to be present with all that my clients bring into our work together.
