Introduction

I am Gia Reyes and I am a first-generation immigrant and mother. I have first-hand experience of how migrating to a new country impacts mental health. I know how 'old country' values can clash with today's beliefs, causing much conflict and pain between different generations and how it may even feel like you have have 'lost' the identity you knew. There can be unexplained sadness and anxiety, and maybe even guilt, because you are supposed to live in the most powerful country in the world yet you aren't 'happy.' Whether it has been a year or 20 years since you landed, you may still feel untethered. We can work towards minimizing family conflict due to generational and cultural differences, and learn healthy communication skills. We can address your anxieties and fears about 'losing' your culture, your values and traditions. I also focus on life transitions, such as divorce, retirement, empty-nesting, etc. and we can find your life-purpose, at any age. It is possible to regain control of your life. It may not feel that way right now because you are sad, stressed, and perhaps even angry, but there are many ways to thrive and together we can explore the many options you have and learn the skills to achieve joy and harmony. I invite you to contact me, via email, because some relief may just be a session away.
