Introduction

Did you know that your overall health and wellness are fundamental to success? Each person's mental health wellness journey can look and feel so different. GMD Counseling provides psychotherapy and uses the most current research in healthy development and mental wellness, along with evidence-based practices and interventions through a personalized approach. Services are offered for ages 7 to adult. 🌅About The Owner:🌅 My name is Gia DeGennaro and I am the founder and director of psychotherapy at GMD Counseling, LLC. I am a Certified School Counselor (preK-12) and Pre-Licensed Professional Counselor. As a graduate from The University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s degree in School and Mental Health Counseling, I studied Trauma-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, PTSD, and Childhood Traumatic Complex Grief. Prior to Penn, I had earned a Master's degree in Instructional Leadership & Special Education. As an undergraduate, I studied Elementary Education at Penn State. I have experience providing clinical counseling to children, adults, and families in individual, family, and group settings. As a Mental Health Outpatient Therapist, I specialized in working with children and adolescents struggling with adjustment issues, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, ADHD, and emotional regulation. I help my clients to gain self-awareness, to utilize their strengths, to explore their thoughts and feelings, to learn emotional regulation strategies, to empower them to understand who they are, and to advocate for themselves. 💟With me as your therapist, you are in a safe, non-judgmental setting. I want you to be yourself! This is the only way I can do my best to help you.💟 ✏️If you are a parent looking for guidance to support your child’s social, emotional, and academic learning, I am here for you and your child! My experience spans within teaching and counseling across K-12th grade for over 20 years.✏️ ⭐If you think that my practice aligns with what you are searching for, please CLICK BELOW to set up a FREE 15 minute phone consultation.⭐ https://www.psychologytoday.com/profile/1174256
