George Hogenson, Ph.D.
Introduction
I am a Jungian psychoanalyst with over 30 years of clinical experience in depth psychological approaches to therapy. I focus on helping each individual better understand their experience of the underlying emotional and spiritual structure of their life. As a therapist, I tell people with whom I work that I will, above all, listen very carefully, and help guide rather than direct their experience. Over the course of my work as a clinician I have worked extensively with LGBTQ and trans individuals, individuals with religious or spiritual issues, and issues associated with aging. Prior to becoming a clinician, I was on the faculty of a major university, and enjoy working with students in academic settings. In addition to my clinical practice, I am a senior training analyst at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago. In addition to my teaching, I provide consultation and supervision to other clinicians and often lecture on depth psychology and psychoanalysis.
