Hi! My name is George Embiricos and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), specializing in the field of intimacy. Intimacy is intertwined everywhere in our lives — your reading this prompt is already creating a bond between the two of us. Psychotherapy has been the prevalent profession in my family for generations, and I have advanced clinical degrees from both undergraduate (Vanderbilt University) and graduate (Columbia University), finishing at the top of my class. I have specialized for the past five years in working with individuals and groups regarding intimacy issues as they deal with addiction (specifically to pornography and sex) and are rooted in past trauma(s). I have a gentle and inviting approach, believing that establishing a relational and trusting partnership between client and practitioner is of the utmost and immediate importance in order to work together effectively. Over the years, I have developed an affinity for working with individuals — ages 16 to 80 — who have never before been in therapy or have had taken part in years because of previous subpar experiences.
