Introduction

Great to meet you! My name is Genevieve A. Compean, LPC, and I am a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals overcome challenges to reach their full potential. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. My combination of academic excellence and hands-on clinical experience affords me the opportunity to offer comprehensive, client-centered care. A bit about my approach to therapy I emphasize a relational/cultural, person-centered approach in practice, which recognizes the vital role that human connection and cultural context play in mental health. Utilizing a person-centered perspective ensures that each client is seen as an individual with unique needs, goals and experiences. What you can expect from our first session When working with me, you can expect a warm, supportive, and personalized approach to therapy. I tailor my methods to best meet each client's unique needs and goals. As a proud LGBTQ+ ally, I am committed to creating an inclusive, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations feel welcome. From your first session, you’ll be welcomed into a safe, space where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
