Introduction

My name is Lorraine Gabbidon and I hold a master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have over 10 years experience in the field of mental health. I entered the field because of my passion for addressing the psychological and mental health needs of others, realizing that mental wellness does impact physical health and the entire personhood. My unique ability to conduct inner child work as a psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapist puts me at an advantage, because I work with clients to address the core cause of their issues, not the symptoms which are embedded in various childhood adverse experiences. I am very warm, empathetic and compassionate. I have the ability to make clients feel welcome and safe in my first sessions and more importantly, they leave the first session with deeper understanding of their presenting problems. Additionally, I share research articles with clients that speak directly to their issues, which heightens self-awareness and deepens their insights to facilitate growth and change.
