Flor obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree from Grand View University. She has over 10+ years of experience working with children, families, individuals, and couples from a variety of backgrounds. She is fluent in Spanish and able to provide bilingual therapy services. Flor believes that a positive relationship between therapist and client is key to a successful therapy experience. She is dedicated to provide a safe, compassionate and judgment free space for clients. Flor’s clinical interests are anxiety disorders, trauma, depression, personal growth, and life transitions. She utilizes Attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Person-centered approaches. Flor strives to work with clients to help them to learn new skills and continue their self-awareness journey to positively impact their lives. She is a member of the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association and The National Latinx Psychological Association.
