Using a blend of different perspectives with empathy and understanding, I aim to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship and create a holding space to process painful experiences, deepen insight into thoughts and feelings, and build connections with the felt sense in the body. I have an integrative approach looking to use the "here-and-now" to access the "there-and-then" & utilize attachment based and experiential modalities like AEDP, IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing. I aim to help the client tap into their natural inclination toward healing, foster the body's innate resiliency & transform the individual's inherent capacity for survival into vitality. My perspective mirrors Alice Miller's, The Drama of the Gifted Child. "The true opposite of depression is neither gaiety nor absence of pain, but vitality-the freedom to experience spontaneous feelings...not only happy, beautiful, or good but the entire range of human experience, including envy, jealousy, rage, disgust, greed, despair, and grief." For the past ten years, I have been working as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in various settings. I graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from Touro College. I also received trauma training from the National Institute for Psychotherapies' Integrative Trauma Program and have done post-graduate training in Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing.
