Erin Gates is an individual and family therapist and a board certified clinical supervisor in Maryland and Washington, D.C. with expertise in supporting adolescents, adults, and families in their work through various life challenges, relationship issues, stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, and other concerns that impact daily life. Erin’s specializations include working with parents- to-be and parents of young and school-aged children, managing perfectionism and anxiety (including test and other performance-based anxieties), and supporting young adults as they navigate the challenges of this life stage. Erin believes that an empathic and genuine relationship with one's therapist is pivotal to fostering growth and empowerment in each client, and she tailors her therapeutic approach to the specific needs of each client. She prioritizes creating an attuned, trusting relationship with her clients in order for them to bring their full and authentic selves to therapy, and she takes immense pride in walking alongside them on their journey. When Erin isn’t spending time with her clients, she is cooking, traveling, or just hanging out with her husband, daughter, and labradoodle. Erin loves to read (primarily thrillers), do yoga, and enjoy time with her friends and large extended family.
