Introduction

Therapy takes many forms. Sometimes, it's quick and transformational. Sometimes, it’s slow and gentle, so as not to overwhelm your nervous system. Together, we will craft an approach that work best for you. Perhaps the most important thing to know is that I have processed through intense trauma, which means that I can hold the trauma that you've experienced, without being overwhelmed by it. My training and what it means to you: • Somatic Experiencing—Advanced Level (3 years): A body-based therapy for healing trauma. This form of therapy is less mechanical than EMDR, which means that a more individualized approach is possible. Many find it beneficial for releasing pain around childhood trauma, sexual violence, and combat. It’s also an excellent therapy for releasing the trauma that 1st responders and Emergency Department staff experience. • Coherence Therapy—Intermediate level training. This therapy works with implicit memory to relieve symptoms. An example of implicit memory is muscle memory. It drives reaction without conscious thought. Updating implicit memory allows for symptom relief without the need to consciously monitor thoughts (which therapies like CBT require, to be effective). Clients report effortless relief after the effort required to do this form of therapy. • PACT Couples Therapy—Intermediate level. This is a multidisciplinary approach to couple counseling that includes aspects of Coherence therapy. I also use Gottman techniques in couples counseling. • Internal Family Systems: Mentored in IFS by one of the leading IFS therapists in the state. IFS uses the wisdom of our parts to bring about healing. IFS infuses all of the work that I do. • Northwest School of Healing (4 years): A Brennan-based approach to healing through Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini yoga, like traditional Chinese medicine, works with the flow of spiritual energy in the body. For clients who want Psycho-Spiritual support in their healing journey. Reiki Master, Usui Lineage. • Psychedelic Therapies and Research Certificate Program: Currently, in progress. For clients who want support preparing for and integrating experiences of non-ordinary reality as part of their healing journeys. I have extensive experience of non-ordinary states through Kundalini Yoga. There are several pathways to non-ordinary states, including ecstatic dance, sweat lodge, meditation, and psychedelics. I identify as trans-feminine tomboy. I am a veteran crew of air-combat support missions, law enforcement, criminal justice attorney and college professor. I became a therapist later in life, after finding relief from a traumatic childhood, through therapy. Currently, my wife and I are restoring an old sailboat, to begin our next adventure. 15 minute initial consults: Free for those who attend/$30 for booking and not attending. 50 minute sessions: $120 80 minute sessions: $150 Sliding Scale is available on a limited/needs-based basis Headway manages insurances for me.
