Finding a therapist you trust is a challenge and scheduling your first session takes courage. You’ve taken the first step toward healing and personal growth. I’m offering you a safe, nurturing and accepting place to freely express your feelings, thoughts and experiences. My vocation is to guide and support individuals like yourself to better understand themselves at a deeper level through the power of compassion and empathy. With commitment to therapy, we’ll explore your relationship with yourself and your relationships with others, addressing emotional and behavioral issues that are potentially holding you back. I have over 13 year of experience providing mental health services including mental health consulting services, psychological evaluations, individual and group psychotherapy to diverse populations. I completed a master's degree in clinical social work with a specialization in mental health from Loyola University Chicago. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW 91121) registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California offering individual evidence-based treatments. I have worked across a variety of settings, from non-profit to outpatient/inpatient hospitals, community clinics and government agencies, including Stanford Health Care. I provide in person and online therapy in Spanish and English to individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, difficult life transitions, relationship issues, grief, all of which may hinder engagement in important relationships: romantic, career/school, social, family. I utilize evidenced-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), internal family systems (IFS), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), all of which allow me to effectively address emotional and behavioral issues from diverse backgrounds. In addition, I provide psychological immigration evaluation services. My expertise covers a wide range of cases, including extreme hardship/cancelation of removal, spousal abuse (VAWA), political asylum, U-Visa and T-Visa cases. I was born and raised in Mexico and immigrated to the US on my own to pursue higher education. My experiences and challenges as an immigrant woman of color helped me develop the ability to support others facing cultural challenges. As a bicultural therapist I am very sensitive to the needs of immigrant populations and committed to providing compassionate and high quality support.
