Do you sometimes feel alone in your pain, or worry that no one really understands you? It's not easy navigating the demands of life including family, relationships and work. Expressing yourself is difficult when you can't find the right words to say. Having to feel like you have to be the strong one every moment of the day is exhausting, or the one that holds it together for everybody. It can take a toll on your mind, body and spirit. You can be your own worst critic although you try your best to do everything right. You're needing support with the self critic, the negative thoughts, and comparing yourself to others. Imagine being able to calm those anxious thoughts and be in the present moment as well as connect with your body. You have the ability to take control and learn how to offer yourself tools that will help you connect to your authentic self. You're not alone in your feelings! I know firsthand what you're feeling because I too have felt all these things. With much support and effort, I have learned to manage those intense feelings even in times of high stress. It is important to make sure that you feel comfortable and safe in therapy. And once you feel these things, you can open up, without feeling judged or criticized. This allows you the ability to change, grow and heal by being heard and seen unconditionally and authentically. I welcome you to reach out if you feel that we may be a good fit. ☀︎ I offer a free 15 min consultation ☀︎ "Presence means living into resistance in the most organic and connected way, the way of being alive, being human"... ~Kaitlin B. Curtice About me: I grew up with many siblings and this helped me understand and connect with many different personalities. This also fostered my interest in psychology; I wanted to understand how, as individuals, we operate and how we can heal from past traumas. I too have experienced traumatic events and the reason I chose to focus in Somatic Therapy, as a way to offer my body healing. Somatic therapy’s focus is on the body and using different ways to help calm the mind, body and spirit. To be in the present moment (here and now) and not think about the future, or the past. I've had a rich culture of work and life experiences, from working as a TSA agent, which affected my nervous system considerably due to the high stress levels of the job, to studying abroad in Europe and Latin America. Living abroad helped me to understand that our world is so much more than our own limiting experiences. Having these experiences has helped me to understand how it is to be human and to interact and connect with the world. I've had very difficult moments when I felt that no one would ever understand me and I felt alone in my pain. Despite that, I'm grateful to have had these experiences, since they have helped shape the person I am today, especially how I show up in the world and in the therapy room. I believe strongly that culture in any form plays a major role in our lives and having a deeper understanding of it helps me offer my clients a non-biased experience.
