About Me: Hello, my name is Emma Ranft. I am a Counseling Intern currently enrolled at Northwest Nazarene University’s Master’s Program. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in foreign languages from University of Alaska Fairbanks, which led me to start working with adolescents with disabilities. I aim to help individuals and families from all backgrounds receive the mental health services they need to grow as individuals and as a family. I was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, which is where I gained an appreciation for nature. I enjoy kayaking, swimming, and camping. I also have a passion for artwork. I love to paint and draw abstract pieces. Therapeutic Approach: As a counselor, I seek to tailor sessions to each individual’s unique needs and goals. My aim is to build a strong therapeutic relationship in a safe environment with empathy, compassion, and mutual respect. Using evidence- based techniques, I seek to help patients build a better understanding of themselves, overcome challenges, and build resilience.
