You are sad, anxious, and feel lost. You are so stressed out and don't know how to cope. You spend too much time thinking about others' opinions of you. You can't sleep because your thoughts are racing. You re-play every interaction in your mind and wonder if you could have said or done something differently. You avoid feeling your emotions because being vulnerable scares you. You are your own worst critic and do not like the person you see in the mirror. You feel like you are just going through the motions instead of truly living and enjoying life. Having dealt with my own anxiety and depression in adolescents and early 20's and late diagnosis of ADHD in my 30's, I know what it is like to not like the person you see in the mirror. Faking a smile to the public and crying behind closed doors. I still remember my first panic attack. One of the most horrible feelings in the world. After completing my own therapy (yes, therapists go to therapy too!) I knew without a doubt I wanted to help people deal with their emotions. I earned my B.A in Psychology at University of Dayton and my Masters in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. I completed my clinical practicum at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center on an Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient unit. I started my career as a child and adolescent therapist working in a school and outpatient setting focusing on trauma, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. I then branched out to providing therapy to adults with severe mental illness in a community mental health setting. I started my practice on a part-time basis in 2016 while I was still working full-time at a community mental health agency and navigating Motherhood. I finally made the leap in 2020 to being full-time in my practice helping individuals and couples. As your therapist, I can help you learn to love yourself and recognize your strengths, instead of only focusing on your weaknesses. I can help you be brave enough to step outside of your comfort zone and begin to address your unresolved issues. I can help you get better sleep and learn to put yourself first. slow down your racing thoughts. I can help you become less depressed. I can make you excited for your future instead of fearing the unknown. I know what it is like to not have joy in your life. I get it, and I promise you, you are not alone. Mental wellness is not just my job it is my passion. I truly love what I do. I cannot wait to guide you on your journey to loving yourself and building the confidence you need to live the life you deserve. Let’s do this!
