Introduction

I have an informal, nonjudgmental style to therapy where you can feel free to say the things out loud that you've been keeping inside for way too long. I am a tell it like it is kind of person and I will always be honest with you. I love to laugh, but I also understand the heaviness of some of the things you are coming into the session with. As a certified integrative mental health professional, I believe working on your mental health includes taking a look at your physical, emotional, and spiritual health to see how they are all affecting one another. Together, we will talk about your personal story and make connections to parts of it that you feel are in need of healing and growth. Some background on my specialties/experience: I am trained through the Association for Autism and Neurodiversity to work specifically with neurodiverse couples. If you and/or your partner identify with having Autism and/or ADHD (no formal diagnosis necessary) OR you think one of you might be neurologically wired differently, we will explore how neurodiversity is specifically impacting you and your unique relationship. I offer individual sessions OR couples therapy to those experiencing challenges in this area. I also have years of experience working in medical social work as a hospice and oncology social worker. I am well aware of the role that your (or your loved ones') physical illness plays in affecting your mental health. I am comfortable in discussing the tough realities that come along with dealing with chronic and terminal illness. And a special note for my first responders and their families...I understand the complexity of the job and the many ways that it can impact your life. Repeated exposure to traumatic incidents, the shift work, and other inflexible demands of the job can be A LOT on you and your partner/family members. I understand the culture well and have personally been a part of a first responder family for over twenty years. Training/Certifications: AANE Neurodiverse Couples Counseling Certification Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional EMDR-trained DBT-certified CISM-trained through ICISF ** I am committed to providing therapy at a cost that fits your budget. If I do not participate in your insurance plan, please reach out about my sliding scale fee **
