I offer individual psychotherapy for young adults and adults between the ages of 18-35. I work with college students, recent graduates, young professionals, and those who don't yet know where they belong following high school graduation. I've had success helping clients who are struggling with a variety of issues, including trauma, childhood/developmental trauma, sexual assault, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, parent-child relationship and family system issues, depression, anxiety, and adult ADD/ADHD. MY BACKGROUND AND APPROACH: I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with years of experience helping young adults and adults grow and find emotional healing through individual psychotherapy in private practice. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and my Bachelor of Science in Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Michigan. In my work, I aim to create an open and welcoming therapy environment where my clients feel empowered to make positive changes in their personal lives and relationships. I will work with you to identify your strengths and to set goals of therapy that excite and motivate you. I base my practice on an integrative framework incorporating psychodynamic and family systems therapies, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. This integrative approach allows me to not only provide short-term symptom relief and mood stabilization, but also long-term, internal growth and self-explorations. In addition to my clinical work, I am also a university supervisor and affiliate instructor at Northwestern University's online Masters in Counseling Program where I support the development and growth of masters level counselors-in-training. MY PERSONAL BELIEFS AND INTERESTS: I fell in love with the study of psychology, neuroscience, and the mind-body connection at a young age, and pursued a career in counseling to use this passion to help others achieve greater overall wellness and life satisfaction. I believe wholeheartedly in the human capacity for positive change and growth, a belief supported by my own experiences as a client in therapy and deepened through years of clinical work. In my personal life, I have been practicing yoga and mindfulness for over 10 years and stay up-to-date on evidence-based research around the applications of mindfulness and the mind-body connection in psychotherapy. Through my work, I help my clients attain individually determined therapeutic goals in order to experience more fulfillment in their relationships, careers, and daily lives.
