Introduction

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with 9 years of clinical experience. I work with individual adults, adolescents and their caregivers/parents, and families. I believe in the intrinsic strength of all people and trust that our internal systems naturally lean towards healing. That said, sometimes our experiences, upbringings—even our biology or physical bodies—can feel like they are creating barriers to living the life we want. I will be a partner with you as you look at and acknowledge all parts of your story so that you get to decide the narrative that drives it. I am ready to help you tap in to your own wealth of knowledge, to leave behind the tools that no longer serve you, and to integrate new practices that will help you lead the life you want. A part of this journey will surely be considering your life experiences and beliefs within the context of you family, your culture/s, and the larger systems around us all. I am always working to recognize my own positionality in the therapy room (as well as in my life outside of work). I consider it an honor to navigate these waters with clients as they emerge. Prior to starting my own practice, I worked at various nonprofits providing community-based services (literally meeting people where they are at) for teenagers and their parents, caregivers and relatives; as well as at high schools across the Bay. More recently, I worked with individual adults and families through a private group practice in Berkeley focused on trauma treatment and EMDR. I am originally from a tiny little mining town in Northern Nevada. Much of my passion for mental health work stems from my early life experiences and providing services that were too often inaccessible to me and my community.
