Introduction

Emily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Registered Arts Therapist, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She provides individual therapy for adults and adolescent clients ages 12 and up. She is a Master Certified accelerated resolution therapist, using it to treat phobias, trauma, survivors of abuse or crime, obsessive compulsive disorder, grief and loss, mood dysregulation, nightmares, flashbacks, stress related to COVID-19, and more. Emily is an LGBTQIA+ ally, and has witnessed how marginalization impacts overall health. When working with Emily expect a warm, down to earth, judgment-free environment; in addition to the occasional dose of humor. She believes that individuals are the expert of their lives and that her job is to help clients achieve their goals by utilizing a strengths-based, relational approach to therapy. Emily graduated from the University of Minnesota with an undergraduate degree in Art History and subsequently went on to earn her master’s degree in counseling psychology and Art Therapy from The Adler Graduate School. She has worked as a therapist in emergency shelters, schools, outpatient clinics, and community centers. She considers it an honor to facilitate emotional wellness, growth, and connection in others. Outside of her work as a therapist, Emily enjoys making art, being with family, kayaking, and hiking. In addition, she aspires to reduce stigma related to mental health in her community.
