Emilie is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Psychotherapist, Certified Mindfulness-Informed Professional, Certified Compassion-Fatigue Professional, Certified Sound Healer, and Trauma-Informed Practitioner at Cedar Creek Wellness Group. Emilie provides integrative, holistic, and compassion-focused care to clients who are ready to embark on a personal journey of healing and growth. She invites clients to openly explore their lived experiences with curiosity, compassion, and consistency. The healing space that Emilie has created is intended for clients to feel anchored (or grounded), safe, comfortable, heard, and supported without judgment. Emilie has worked in various settings with diverse groups of people across the country. She has provided services within crisis shelters, women's centers, inpatient and residential facilities, community clinics, and outpatient offices. She has provided services to individuals, families, teens, and children with an assortment of lived experiences. This includes, but is not limited to trauma, domestic violence, abuse, oppression, cultural conditioning, community violence, poverty, women and gender issues, family issues, dysfunctional generational patterns and cycles within, boundary issues, grief, stress, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, negative self-talk, self-identity, maladaptive practices, stress, burnout, empathy and compassion fatigue, mild somatic symptoms, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, teen pregnancy, reproductive rights, womanhood, motherhood, single mothers, teen mothers, wounded healers, caregivers, life transitions, life challenges, college students, personal development, and simply experiencing being human. Emilie currently focuses much of her time working with mothers, caregivers, fellow mental health professionals, and wounded healers within the 1:1 counseling / therapy space. Emilie has provided advocacy, mentorship, training, workshops, counseling, therapy, coaching, presentations, group support, supervision, and leadership throughout her career. Emilie received her MSEd in Counseling, while working toward a Women & Gender Studies Certificate from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA). She earned a BA in Psychology, while minoring in Women & Gender Studies, from University of Missouri-Kansas City. She completed her AA at Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, MO. When Emilie is not providing services to clients, she enjoys being at the gym, traveling, being at the beach, playing pool, meditating, writing, reading, spending time with loved ones, and exploring personal and professional development options. She is a lifetime learner and looking forward to getting certified as a Restorative Yoga Instructor soon. Emilie has embarked on her own healing journey and understands the sacredness of this process. She advocates for self-care, self-awareness, and personal investment for herself and others.
