Introduction

Hi, I am Emani from Focus Therapy LLC. Focus is a mental wellness practice that provides BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, and young working professionals that struggle with imposter syndrome a safe, positive, and nonjudgmental space by validating the inner strengths that encourages individuals to become more aware of the great value they hold as a human being. Too many times our intersected identities are not taken into account or respected fully when we serve others. Sometimes we put others before ourselves so as to not make a fuss or feel targeted by the majority. At Focus, your intersected identities matter and you do not have to choose one to fit in. Instead we focus special attention on providing motivation of growth to uplift your existence through consistent encouragement to explore and participate in positive spaces that celebrate unique qualities you possess. We provide personal positive affirmations on your work in therapy to help you establish a better sense of comfort you desire within your mind, body, and sense of esteem. The most valuable work in transforming your care lies in our work together through supportive therapy that inspires you to cultivate what makes you passionate, funny, happy, nurturing etc. Finding a therapist and an appropriate therapeutic approach is very important to your therapeutic success. I understand that burn out with finding the right therapist can happen when you feel like your needs are not being heard or you are simply uncomfortable with the therapists' therapeutic style and approach. To put you at ease, my style is inclusive where I apply multidisciplinary approach in utilizing various therapies to meet you where you are depending on your needs. My personality is laid back with "kid gloves" in which I apply a humanistic-holistic approach that takes into consideration your interests, identity, values, and culture as it relates to your perception and interaction with the outside world. I have over 8 years of experience working with adults with racial and gender identity and affirmation, grief, anxiety (depression following after anxiety), PTSD, couples counseling with traditional and non traditional relationship dynamics, chronic illness, women issues, and college academic stress in various healthcare settings that will allow me to meet you where you are on your healing journey. If you find yourself at this page reaching out for a safe space that validates your strengths and centers your intent to grow into the best version of you, then I welcome a free 15 minute phone or video call with no strings attached to discuss what you are looking for in therapy and if I am an appropriate fit to help you address your needs.
