Ella is a Licensed Master of Social Work. She spent a year training at Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, a foster care and adoption agency in Birmingham, AL. She also spent a year training at Birmingham Recovery Center, an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program. She holds an M.A. in Social Work from Samford University, as well as a B.A. in Human Development and Family Science from Samford University. Ella has a passion for working with children ages 3-10 who have experienced difficulties within their life. This passion began at a young age, as she grew up as the oldest of five children. She helps children struggling with behavior issues, grief and loss, anxiety, self-esteem, adoption, and life transitions. She desires to provide a safe space for children to play in her playroom in order to give them space to ‘play out’ experiences and feelings. Play therapy fosters emotional wellness, enhances social relationships, increases personal strengths, and facilitates communication. Ella longs for play therapy to empower her clients toward growth and maturity as they express themselves through the magic of play. She desires for individuals, no matter what their age, to have a safe place that provides healing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, doing Crossfit, and playing with kids.
