Introduction

If it ain’t one thing, it’s another.” “It’s always something.” “I just can’t seem to get ahead.” These are just a few of the defeating statements we often utter when our circumstances don’t match up with our expectations. And a lot of the time, it’s because of some trauma, struggle or problem that is overwhelming us. It’s hard to manage stress when your personal challenges, past trauma or relationship chaos are preventing you from living the life you’ve always dreamed of. Add on the daily struggles of being a Black man or woman in America and those problems can seem insurmountable. Whether you’re suffering from past trauma, chemical dependencies, dysfunctional relationships or sexually intrusive behaviors, the bottom line is this: There are few safe spaces for people of color looking for nonjudgmental, straightforward yet caring mental health advice on how to approach these challenges, so they stop disrupting daily life. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “therapy” and “mental health” are taboo words in our community. That’s because therapy has been historically colonized and not personalized for your unique challenges as a person of color. I’m here to change that. I’m Elizabeth McCoy, the Transformation Therapist. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Brainspotting. All from DECOLONIZED lens. Translation? No matter what barriers or blocks are keeping you from living your best life, I’ve got the well-rounded POV, deep training and know-how to help you reclaim your joy, set healthy boundaries and heal in a space designed just for you! If you’re ready to trade trauma and pain for happier relationships and a better quality of life, schedule a consultation with me so I can show you how: << YES, SHOW ME HOW TO TURN MY PAIN INTO POWER!>> by booking your first appointment!
