I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified meditation instructor, and certified yoga instructor committed to helping adults navigate painful emotional experiences. My work focuses on grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and older adult concerns. Our accumulated experiences and the integration of mind, body, and spirt, create our personal, life tapestry. When we face emotional upheaval, the threads in our tapestry may become frayed or broken. I believe that when we reweave the broken threads through therapy, you will find resilience and renewed motivation, purpose, and joy. I approach therapy with the understanding that you are the expert on your life while I can offer non-judgmental perspectives, reflections, and tools to assist you in finding healing. I believe that our therapeutic relationship is key to healing. I believe in the innate human capacity to flourish when we feel understood. We will work collaboratively to reach your therapy goals. In addition to a person-centered approach to therapy, I offer support through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I integrate meditation and other mind, body, spirit practices into traditional talk therapy. Together we will find the best approaches for your specific needs. I received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University which is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). I have worked in a community health organization with underserved populations and in two senior wellness centers where in addition to individual counseling, I facilitated grief groups and mental wellness groups. I am a National Certified Counselor, a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), and the DC Mental Health Counselors Association (DCMHCA).
