I have 24 years experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I started my social work career as the Assistance Director of the Student Mental Health Service at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). I helped medical students and pharmacy students with a wide variety of mental health issues. I became well experienced in treating General and Test Anxiety, Depressive Disorders, Stress Management, Adjustment Issues and Loss. I left UAMS in 2005 to pursue my dream of opening my own private practice. In my private practice I have a passion for working with adults who have grown up with adversity (trauma, neglect, poverty, addiction, abuse and emotionally immature parents). I completed a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 1998 and a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2000. In 2004, I completed advanced training in relationship therapy with John and Julie Gottman at the Gottman Institute in Seattle, Washington. I am a Arkansas Board Certified Clinical Social Worker. In 2017 I was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board. I have served as Secretary and Vice Chair. I currently hold the position of Chair of the Arkansas Social Work Board. I was appointed to the Bylaws committee for the National Social Work Board in 2022 and 2023. In 2024 I served as the Chair of the Bylaws Committee. I was elected to the Nominations Committee of the National Board with my tenure beginning in 2025.
