I am Elizabeth Brown, Marriage and Family Therapist Associate specializing in relational therapy for couples, support for parents and individual counseling from a systemic perspective. I earned my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2011. I am currently completing my practice requirements for full licensure under the supervision of Lynette Wilson, LMFT-S. A lifelong Texan, I've called Waco home since 2015. RELATIONAL THERAPY Building a marriage/relationship that is fulfilling and intimate requires a balance of each of your unique characteristics and the connection you have together. I love working with couples to build a strong partnership that honors each individual. I use a multimodal approach to address the emotional needs and patterns in your relationship to foster greater harmony and intimacy. Premarital Counseling and Marriage/Relationship Enrichment Taking the next step in your relationship? Need a tune up? As a PREPARE/ENRICH Certified Facilitator, I offer premarital counseling and relationship enrichment utilizing this highly validated assessment. PARENT SUPPORT Nobody knows what their parenting assignment will be like, but the goal is clear: to love these little people well. My goal working with parents it to help you define what is in your control to change, what isn't, and what you need to be a grounded, compassionate parent. INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING I love working with individuals on their journey toward wholeness. That journey can look like identifying and valuing each part of you and finding self compassion and acceptance at the core of who you are. Soul Care Did you know that psychology means care of the soul? Your spirituality is an asset to the therapeutic process and can be integrated into counseling if desired. I hold an MDiv equivalency and am currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry from Abilene Christian University with an emphasis in Christian Spiritual Formation. EMDR Trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I can walk you through the process of addressing trauma. EMDR has been shown to be effective in treating acute trauma, PTSD, and trauma response.
