Many of us have experienced grief and loss, through death, illness, loss of relationships, natural disasters, jobs, burnout, and so much more. My approach focuses on how grief and loss impact the way we think and believe about ourselves and how that impacts our emotions. Work can include attending to old wounds and developing new skills in coping, communication, boundary setting, and self-care. My approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and empowering. We live in a world that doesn’t often have the space to hear our pain, and yet, working through our stories and experience can bring us healing. Influenced by the clinical training in my doctoral and masters programs, along with 20+ years combined professional experience a hospice social worker, bereavement counselor, professor, board member for the Social Work and Palliative Care Network and researcher, I have built skills in alleviating the suffering from grief and loss. I'd love to hear your story. Our first session will focus on your story and grief experience and then we will prioritize your goals and establish a plan that is unique to your life journey.
