Hi! I’m Elizabeth (she/them/theirs) My approach to your therapy is eclectic and holistic. My theater and performance arts training have provided a baseline for my viewpoint on how people change and grow. I believe that movement, body awareness, attachment, and meditation are essential aspects of the healing process. If these ideas make you comfortable, we can explore body sculpting, role-play, and active, physical meditation techniques. These are valuable tools when working with clients who have experienced trauma, have difficulty in relationships, need space to process emotions, or for those who face adversity. We can explore negative or intrusive thoughts, thought processes, and emotional reactions to these thoughts through the use of CBT, REBT, or DBT techniques. We will also explore and address our relationship during the session and focus on issues or moments of growth between us. This is a helpful tool to gain insight into behavior patterns, heighten awareness, and build trust (Gestalt and Existential therapy). But, most importantly, I am here to listen. I will act as your advocate and offer empathy and understanding, no matter where it is that you have landed in your life story. I have worked in both the Community Mental Health field, and in private practice. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, the international honor society for counseling (Chi Sigma Iota), and a former member of the Hood College Counselors for Social Justice chapter.
