Introduction
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, or numbness, I’m here for you. Blaming yourself or feeling guilt or shame is no fun. These experiences are probably affecting your relationships, even the one with yourself. Your body gets bombarded with danger signals and in an attempt to cope you have learned to ignore your gut feeling and to numb the outside. Now you are noticing that this has challenged your ability to manage stressful situations, and it has led you to feel easily overwhelmed and wishing you could just shut it all off. This is what Complex PTSD can feel like when it goes untreated. I work with individuals who have grown up in an environment that has left them feeling invalidated or dismissed, and who want to learn to love and accept themselves for who they are. We identify and process earlier memories to help us to see the connections between past and present triggers. We keep what is useful from past memories and let go of the rest.
