My Name is Edna, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I was born in Guatemala and came to the United States at the age of 10. I am an individual who loves education, has a thirst for knowledge, and has the drive to help. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the California State University of Northridge and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in community psychology from the University of Antioch, Los Angeles. My treatment specialization includes providing psychotherapy for individuals and couples, stress management, and conflict resolution. I have experience in issues related to childhood trauma, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Inter-partner violence (DV). I have practiced in a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, and now in my private practice. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT). I am a certified Parent Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT) and Domestic Violence counselor. As a Marriage Family Therapist, I have come to understand that to produce change, one must have a safe and compassionate environment and deserves a compassionate therapist who can connect with the individual to help them. I hope to connect with you and help you find that safe and compassionate environment whether it's in my office or guiding you to find what you need. Please feel free to reach me if you have any questions.
