Peaceful Mindset Counseling opened in 2019 with the goal of providing compassionate, ethical, and quality therapy and support to clients and mental health providers. We accept insurance and private pay. Insurances accepted include: Wellmark/ BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, Midlands Choice, Health Partners (non Unity Point plans), Health Alliance, and all Iowa Medicaid plans (Iowa TotalCare, Amerigroup, and Molina of Iowa). At this time we do not accept Medicare plans. Our staff: Echo Kent, is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) and has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, becoming a therapist in 2013. Echo received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Iowa State University and a Bachelor's in Criminology from University of Northern Iowa and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Mercy University. Echo provides outpatient therapy services to individuals, couples and families focusing on trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, depression, and anxiety. Echo utilizes an Experiential approach and is trained in IFS, EMDR and IFIO (Intimacy from the Inside Out). In addition, Echo offers clinical supervision to temporary licensed or fully licensed marriage and family therapists or mental health counselors. Katie Moon is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Clinical Supervisor. Katie received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Coe College and a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She has been working in the mental health field since 2005 and has been licensed since 2012. Katie works with adolescents (14 +) and adults using cognitive behavioral and solution focused approaches. Clinical interests include depression, anxiety, and stress management. Currently welcoming new clients. Katie Taylor is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Katie graduated from Mount Mercy University with her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Katie enjoys working with a wide range of populations and ages using a Solution Focused therapy approach. Katie has special interest in working with teenagers and parents. Catherine Vander Zee is a licensed independent social worker (LISW) who has completed her Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of Iowa and her Master's in Social Work from Colorado State University. She specializes in working with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Catherine is trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focus. By integrating these approaches, she strives to help individuals overcome their challenges and improve their overall mental health and well-being. Caroline Gimarc is a tLMFT who graduated from Kansas State University with her PhD in Couple and Family Therapy and Texas Tech University with her master's degree in Couple, Marriage, and Family Therapy. Caroline enjoys working with couples, individual adults, and adolescents 14 and over. Her clinical interests include grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and major life transitions. Caroline utilizes experiential and emotionally focused approaches when working with clients. Caroline has evening and weekend availability. Jordan Arneson is a is a temporary licensed Marriage and Family therapist (tLMFT). He graduated from Mount Mercy University with his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Jordan works with individuals of all ages, couples and families. He utilizes a systemic and attachment based lens. Jordan is currently accepting new clients. Jason Fiala is a temporary licensed Marriage and Family therapist (tLMFT). He graduated from Mount Mercy University with his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently in their PhD program. He collaborates with individuals, children ages 10 and older, and couples. Jason practices from an attachment based experiential lens. He employs therapeutic approaches and techniques from Symbolic Experiential Family therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Systemic Sex therapy, and Person-Centered Exploration and Play therapy. He works with all psychological and relationship obstacles as he fully believes that every person is deserving and worthy of love, belonging, and being seen. Autism and neurodivergent welcome. LGBTQIA+ affirming. FetishLife affirming. Gillian Murray is a Temporary Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (tLMFT). Gillian enjoys working with clients of all ages, families and couples and utilizes an experiential approach with clients. Gillian's interests include depression/ anxiety and family/relational issues. Gillian is currently out on extended medical leave and not currently accepting new clients. Rebecca Long is a temporary licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (t-LMFT). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount Mercy University. She holds additional certification in the EFIT approach to individual therapy and EFT approach to couples therapy, as well as advanced training in the treatment of trauma (including racial trauma). Rebecca works with teens age 13+, adults of all ages, and those in relationships of any form. Her clinical interests include discernment counseling and divorce, LGBTQIA+, marginalized populations, men's mental health, PTSD, and self-harm/suicidal ideation. While Rebecca's approach to therapy is primarily attachment-based with somatic awareness, she adapts her practice using a range of research-based approaches to meet each client's needs. Elizabeth Miller-White, MA, tLMFT is a temporary licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Elizabeth believes each client is the expert in their own lives. Elizabeth enjoys working with adult individuals, children 7 and up, and couples. Elizabeth's interests include depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, ADHD, attachment issues, domestic abuse, eating disorders and couple issues including discernment counseling. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques including Collaborative, Solution-Focused, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Sand Tray and Play Therapy. In addition, we have three student intern therapist. Interns offer therapy services at a reduced or free rate. Interns are not able to bill insurance for appointments. Brandon Schmidt is a student intern studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bradley University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bradley University and a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Iowa. Brandon spent fifteen years working in mental health research before pursuing a counseling degree. He enjoys working with individuals dealing with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Hallee Maulsby is a student intern who will graduate with her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Iowa in May 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Hallee utilizes aspects of Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) in her clinical practice. She aims to provide a safe space for clients to explore themselves and develop a foundation for growth. Her areas of interest are anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress management. She enjoys working with individuals ages 13 and over. Corinne is a Marriage and Family Therapy intern from Mount Mercy University. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in coaching. She has strong personal beliefs and values surrounding human connection, self-love, self-discovery, and the beautiful journey of life that everyone experiences.
