There are some life challenges for which we feel ill-equipped to handle, especially when they accompany major life transitions. These experiences can greatly impact our sense of stability, leave us feeling incapable and even doubtful about the future. When we do not have necessary tools to overcome these life stressors we can become overwhelmed and move to a place of despair. My mission is to meet you where you are, assist you in clarifying personal goals, and journey with you as overcome challenges that have previous prevented goal obtainment. I earned a Master of Christian Ministry and a Master of Counseling from Wayland Baptist University in Texas. In 2014, I earned a Doctorate of Education in Pastoral Community Counseling Degree from Argosy University in Florida. For the last 13 years I have served as a Spiritual Teacher, Counselor, Mentor and Community Advocate. I primarily work with clients, experiencing anxiety, depression and PTSD. In addition, I have designed and conducted seminars, facilitated retreats and lectured at Universities. I have also worked to develop and improve various community programs available to the incarcerated and high-risk populace. My approach is eclectic and combines multiple modalities to include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Each of these techniques focus on changing the way we think. By changing the way our perspective we can gain an enhanced knowledge about ourselves (improved self-awareness and self-image), live more authentic (self-affirming/ pride in self) and feel empowered (personal success/ accomplishment). I am the author of Abreha: The Lightbearer and co-author of Grief: A guide to Healing: Conquering the Challenges Related to Loss. Both resource focus on mental health concerns and provide resources to facilitate the healing process. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to serve you and I look forward to working with you.
