Hi, my name is Dr. Stephanie Ramirez. I am the proud daughter of Colombian immigrants, where I grew and thrived within two different cultures. Living in these two worlds allowed me to become bilingual and bicultural, which gave me the opportunity to understand various cultural contexts. I learned from a young age that encountering different cultural contexts increases cultural sensitivity, allows for empathy, and creates deeper relationships. This is where my love for counseling begins. *Qualifications* I am Licensed Professional Counselor (License # 65773) and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with an emphasis on relational, humanistic and existential therapies. In addition to counseling and supervision, I am a counselor educator and I train future counselors interested in working with underserved communities. My degrees include: * B.A. in Psychology/ Minor in Spanish from Schreiner University; * M.A. in Community Counseling from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas; *Ph.D in Counselor Education and Supervision with an RCT and Social Justice emphasis from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. *Counseling & Supervision Approach* This is where our story begins. I believe that humans flourish, heal, and grow within relationship and that primary suffering occurs from social isolation and chronic disconnection. Our work together will include bringing you back into healing connection, where you’ll begin to reconnect with yourself, while also bringing yourself more fully into relationship with others. My primary model of therapy Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), rooted in relationships, and culturally-responsive. As a therapist, we will explore your relationships based on your cultural context and how they impact your wellness. I use RCT as my foundation, however, I integrate other modalities to support individuals in various ways such as CBT, REBT, ACT, SFBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and existential therapy. I’ve worked with an array of experiences including, life-transitions, seasonal changes for women, immigration support, intimate partner violence, anxiety, depression, developmental transitions for children and adolescents, parental support, attachment, relational repairs and caregivers. One of my passions is working with Spanish-speaking individuals and families. *Supervision* If you are in need of a supervisor, please reach out to me to see if we are a good fit for each other.
