The most growth we have is when we go through the hardest times. When working with me you will get clear and concise answers, education, and skills to manage anxiety, change your relationship with yourself and others, and improve aspects of your life that are not working. If you've tried therapy before and "got nowhere," or had a therapist who didn't give much direction, or teach you skills - look no further! My overarching goals are to help you become more empowered, authentic, calm / in control, and to become the person you want to be, as quickly as possible - therapy shouldn't take years! I love results and I'm a very active therapist, educating, teaching skills, and giving homework. I primarily work with anyone who is struggling with anxiety: trauma, chronic worry, ruminations, perfectionism, panic, irritability, anger, exhaustion, social anxiety, control issues. The root cause of most relationship problems (with yourself and others) is dysregulated anxiety. Learning to manage your anxiety and coping styles can dramatically improve your quality of life, relationships, and break you free from sabotaging patterns or people. Learning to be a safe person - so you can have secure relationships, all types of anxiety, codependency, people pleasing, narcissistic trauma, religious trauma, anger, avoiding (shutting down), boundaries are areas I will help you improve. I've worked in private practice since 2002. I am certified in Cognitive Therapy and Anxiety Management. I also use Schema Therapy to work with people who are struggling in many areas - Schema's are our "buttons" - unconscious beliefs that sabotage our lives. Let's expose these and get them out of your way. I love tattoos, metal music, concerts, healthy relationships, being a father and husband. If you want to get a feel for who I am or how I work - go to my Instagram or TikTok page: @psychdocscott and check me out. To work with Dr. Symes, you must physically reside in a state where he is licensed. He is licensed in the states on this map in DARK BLUE: https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap
