Psychotherapy Robert P. Roney, D.Min.
Specialties: Couples Counseling, Existential Crisis, Marital and Premarital, Anxiety, Depression,

Introduction

Welcome to my practice. I have been working with people for the past 34 years, and in that time, I have been a part of healing for many people. I was originally trained as a pastoral therapist, so I am most interested in a warm, healing relationship where you can talk honestly about what you are struggling with. I work in a way that forms a partnership with you. The problem that brings you to psychotherapy is often the crisis or tipping point which motivates you to come. Each person feels that crisis in different ways: maybe anxiety, depression, relationships, faith crisis; all these can be starting points for our work. Sometimes therapy will be done individually, it could include a partner, and many people find working in a group to be helpful. Each modality has its advantages, but its essence must be a positive, trustng relationship where you know you are heard, understood, and cared for. You may want to know some things about me. I am married, have helped raise five children, currently have seven grandchildren. Educationally, I received my doctorate and post-doctorate training at Lousiville Presbyterian Seminary. The doctorate was in pastoral counseling, the post-doctorate was in clinical supervision. I also have a master's degree in theology from Princeton Seminary, and a bachelor's degree from University of Georgia. Together with my family, I enjoy boating on Lake Lanier.
