Introduction

I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 2009. My counseling degree was obtain from the University of West Alabama (School Counselor~2005). I also obtained the following degrees, which I use in my therapy: Elementary Education (North Carolina Central University ~1994), Human Sciences (North Carolina Central University ~ 2001 ~ MS), School Administrator (North Carolina State University ~2007 ~MSA), Educational Specialist degree in Administration/Supervision (East Carolina University ~ 2009 ~ EdS) and a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Gardner-Webb University ~ 2017 ~ EdD). I have worked with children/adolescents, adults of all ages, and families. In my current practice, I focus on individuals. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and offer culturally competent services. I believe the most important part of the therapy process is building rapport with my clients. I believe clients should feel comfortable enough to talk to me about anything. This takes time and work that I enjoy. I hold specializations in Anger Management and Trauma. Currently, I am seeking certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
