Introduction

Dr. Noah Kass holds a doctoral degree and is licensed in New York to treat adolescents, adults, couples and families. An expert in the field of psychotherapy and hypnosis, he combines techniques to treat anxiety problems, addictions and depression and to help clients improve their confidence and motivation so they can excel in their personal and professional lives. Dr. Kass uses hypnotic techniques to address problems associated with anxiety and depression, as well as the associated behaviors such as habits and addictions. Through a relaxed and reflective state, his clients are able to decrease the intensity of their anxious feelings while gaining insight into the root causes of their behavior. His clients challenge the irrational beliefs and catastrophic thinking patterns so often associated with anxiety by tapping into their inner resources and creative problem-solving skills. Through the use of guided imagery and indirect suggestion, Dr. Kass’s clients are able to accept and cope with their fears. Dr. Kass also expertly uses hypnosis to boost clients’ self-confidence and motivation related to achievement, success and interpersonal relationships. He has an extensive background in helping artists, performers, athletes and business executives move past emotional blocks and change their self-image by accessing and amplifying inner strengths that have lain dormant. His method helps diminish his clients’ fear of failure, establish a concrete and actionable plan to achieve goals, and visualize their success in a hopeful and positive way. Believing that genuine personal growth is best achieved through an honest, collaborative exchange, Dr. Kass creates an environment that is focused on the unique needs of each client. He works in a dynamic way — always curious and engaged, approaching the client’s needs with an empathetic and focused ear. He uses hypnosis in combination with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic theories/techniques to help clients maximize their potential for happiness and success. Academic Background Dr. Kass’s interest in human behavior began at Emerson College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in fine arts. He continued his education, receiving dual degrees from New York University: a Master of Arts in Education and a Master of Social Work. Dr. Kass completed his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice, where he received the prestigious Dr. Ram Cnaan Award for meritorious achievement. He has served as the clinical director of both the Realization Center, New York City’s largest addiction outpatient treatment center, and the Dunes East Hampton, a private inpatient treatment center on Long Island, New York. Dr. Kass has been a professor at both the University of Pennsylvania and Touro College in their Master of Social Work programs. He was a biweekly guest on the nationally syndicated Dylan Ratigan Show on MSNBC and a weekly columnist for TheStreet.com and The Huffington Post. Devoted to continuous learning, Dr. Kass has additional training through the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies and the Albert Ellis Institute in CBT and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. He has completed NYU’s Clinical Approaches to Addiction Treatment certificate program and received extensive training in hypnosis under Dr. Rachel Hott and Steven Leeds, experts in the field. Dr. Kass participates in ongoing trainings in hypnosis to keep abreast of new research, and he is among the top of the field in using hypnosis for addictions and anxiety.
