Introduction

Dr. Nina Polyne is a licensed clinical psychologist that treats individuals and couples in the states of California and Pennsylvania. She graduated from Pepperdine University, and has an extensive background of training, including UCLA behavioral medicine, USC hospital, and pre and postdoctoral training at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and University of Pennsylvania. She is a published expert in sleep health, and provides treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. Further, she has extensive training in evidence based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety and Depression, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Disease. Dr. Polyne has a special interest in treating couples. She was trained in Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy, and continued on to receive training in Emotion Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She enjoys helping couples to explore and heal past hurts, to accomplish goals of communicating and connecting on a much deeper level, in addition to creating a lasting, healthy bond. She helps her couples create a personalized “tool kit” of strategies to assist in managing emotional triggers that are very common for all relationships, in combination with those specific to each distinctive couple. What makes Dr. Polyne unique as a therapist is her interest in diversity, cultural background, spirituality, and their influence on our unique presence in the world. It’s important throughout therapy to make connections between the ways in which we are raised, and how we show up in the present moment. Every individual is unique, and treatment will be delivered utilizing a patient-centered approach. Dr. Polyne has a specialty in treating work stress and burnout, insomnia, anxiety, depression and couples. She enjoys working with individuals looking to up-level their lives, live more consciously, and with those excited to explore methods to live a more fruitful, fun, and expansive life! Individuals that work with Dr. Polyne typically set goals to worry less, laugh and appreciate more, and finally and most importantly, connect to our deepest authentic selves. Dr. Polyne’s style is warm, relational, evidence-based, and fun. She enjoys humor during appropriate moments, and spends mindful time developing a comfortable, compassionate, and empathetic therapeutic alliance with every patient. Utilizing a collaborative and goal-setting approach, she enjoys working side-by-side with each individual, to ensure the designed treatment plan matches the individual or couple’s values and goals. Through her PSYPACT license, she is able to see couples and individuals throughout the United States.
