Melanie holds a PhD and a MS in Addiction Psychology. She has been in the helping profession for over 29 years and has certifications/licenses in many different specialties including addictive behaviors, domestic violence/intimate partner abuse, trauma, grief, pathological gambling, sexual offender treatment, dual diagnoses (mental health, addiction), and crisis intervention. Throughout the years she has done numerous community events including radio/tv such as being featured on the Bethenny talk show. She has worked on tribal (urban/reservation), non/for profit sectors providing consulting, therapeutic interventions, diversity/sensitivity trainings, team building, strategic planning, company development/structuring/best practices systematization, corporate restructuring/transitioning/closure planning, and cultural/gender fluidity responsive programming integration. Dr. Bison has been recognized throughout the years for her continued humanitarian efforts and was inducted into the 2022 Nationwide Registries Top Doctors of America, The Women of Distinction Honors Edition. She also received the following awards throughout the years: 2018 Top Behavioral Healthcare Administrator with the International Association of HealthCare Professionals. 2014 Woman of Achievement Award from the National Association for Female Executives. 2012 Professional Achievement Award from Who’s Who of Professional Women.
