Hello! I'm Dr. Megan Murphy and I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 25 years. I have taught in Family Therapy Master's and Doctoral programs for over 20 years. My career focus has been on power dynamics in relationships, most recently focusing on narcissistic abuse and coercive control in family relationships, intimate relationships, and in the workplace, including academia and specifically in graduate therapy training programs. I have published 2 books, Ethics and Professional Issues in Couple and Family Therapy (2nd edition) in 2016, co-edited with Dr. Lorna Hecker, and Handbook of LGBTQ Affirmative Couple and Family Therapy (2nd edition) in 2021, co-edited with Dr. Rebecca Harvey. I have extensive experience supervising therapists-in-training. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of concerns. I really enjoy seeing clients grow! I can help you with a variety of concerns; I am interested in working with clients who are recovering from narcissistic abuse. I can help you spot and detect controlling behaviors and learn how to protect yourself from further abuse. I aim to help survivors reconnect with themselves and build healthy relationships as a way to forge a path forward. Relationship enhancement is my overall focus. I believe that therapy is about helping people improve relationships with themselves as well as with others in their lives. I look forward to walking that journey alongside you!
