Dr. Greenfield is a psychologist who has dedicated his life to helping children using a multitude of formats. He began his career working with autistic children in a specialized treatment program for vulnerable children in Hialeah Florida. He coordinated a psychiatric program for seriously emotionally disturbed children at Variety Children's Hospital in Miami Florida for over 10 years. There, in addition to working directly with the patients and their parents he developed and implemented treatment strategies on a facility and individualized basis. He was also responsible for training all staff members and overseeing all aspects of the treatment facility. Dr. Greenfield also directed the Grant Center treatment facility for children having emotional difficulties. There his responsibilities were to develop and direct the treatment program for vulnerable children with a wide range of emotional difficulties. He was an advisor to television networks on children's and parenting programming. (primarily WTVJ and WL RN in Miami Florida) In an attempt to preemptively minimize the incidence of trauma to children during the Gulf War in Israel he worked with the Israeli government designing and implementing a program to minimize the effects of SCUD missile and chemical warfare attacks. In coordination with Baptist Health Systems he led an initiative to respond to the mental health needs of over 1500 homeless survivors of hurricane Andrew. After the Haitian earthquake Dr. Greenfield in conjunction with the University of Miami ran a full-day seminar to train mental health professionals in effective clinical responses in post-disaster situations. He is currently the founder and director of Children's Survival Network a nonprofit organization whose mission is to comprehensively meet the mental health needs of abused, neglected and vulnerable children. Dr. Greenfield is member of the Student Health Advisory Committee of Miami Dade County Public Schools, one of the largest public school systems in the entire United States. This committee keeps track of the physical and mental health needs of all the system's students and makes recommendations to the School Board and the Superintendent. Dr. Greenfield has been in private practice for 25 years.
