I started my journey in the mental health field at a young age. Now you may be asking, how can that possibly be? I grew up in a family who gave back to and supported people and their community. So, needless to say, I was destined for a career that I too could engage with these qualities. My pursuit of being a psychologist took a couple of off road turns. I started my career at St. Edwards University, obtaining my bachelor’s degree in social work and then pursued my MSSW at the University of Texas at Austin. I decided like any young, recently graduated adult, I’d get a job. I worked as a social worker for three years in a middle school and then in a mental health organization. Throughout these experiences, I found an urge to be able to provide more for my clients and their families. This urge lead me to obtain a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear lake before heading off to the Wright Institute in Berkeley CA, where I obtained my Psy.D. I bring an integrative and relational-based approach to my work with clients, including using a variety of evidence-based practices.I work with my clients to determine which techniques or methods resonates most with their treatment and personal goals. I like working with clients who are looking to understand themselves on a deeper level and who want to increase their quality of life. I firmly believe that in order to bear witness to your journey: where you've come from, where you are at, and where you are headed are the base. I provide a solid, compassionate and safe therapeutic relationship and space for development and understanding.
