Dr. Ickes is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Ohio. She treats adults over the age of 18. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health issues, with a particular interest in the areas of: • Anxiety/Mood/Addictive Behaviors – She uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral, motivational, and interpersonal process strategies to assist individuals in identifying and altering unhealthy thinking and behavioral patterns that block them from fully enjoying the lives they want to lead. • Adjustment/Transition/Losses – supporting clients through negative and positive life transitions and guiding them in identifying specific strategies to navigate these challenges. Such changes may relate to physical health issues, trauma, parenthood/adoption, retirement, pandemic, career, and/or relationship. • Decision-Making/Change – employs motivational interviewing techniques to help individuals resolve ambivalence, and gain the motivation needed to prepare for, implement, and maintain desired changes. • Goal-Setting/Personal Growth – uses educational materials and positive psychology techniques to consult with individuals and/or groups. The purpose is to screen for areas of potential growth, provide feedback, and formulate goals to help clients reach the next level of growth and satisfaction. Dr. Ickes earned her B.S. in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University. She completed her internship at the Cincinnati Veterans Hospital, and has worked in a variety of other clinical settings.
