"Let us then suppose the mind to be, as we say, white paper void of all characters, without any ideas. How comes it to be furnished? Whence comes it by that vast store which the busy and boundless fancy of man has painted on it with an almost endless variety? Whence has it all the materials of reason and knowledge? To this I answer, in one word, from EXPERIENCE." - John Locke Tabula Rasa is Latin, meaning "blank slate". It is my belief that we are born as "blank slates", full of innocence and curiosity. As we grow and develop, we collect experiences, thus filling our slates. It is our experiences that shape our world, perception, actions, and reactions. While some experiences aid in our progress, other experiences hinder us. With the right support system and motivation, I believe that we can make room on our slates for positive and healthy experiences by acknowledging and processing previous experiences.
