Dr. Geneva (she/they) is a Latinx (Mexican-American) licensed clinical psychologist who has been practicing since 2005. I provide affirmative, empowerment-based, relational, insight-oriented (psychodynamic) psychological services to adult and older adolescent populations, including individual psychotherapy, clinical consultations, and trainings. I specialize in working with BIPOC (Black/Indigenous/People of Color), LGBTQ+ and gender non-conforming clients. Areas of focus for treatment vary but often center around traumatic experiences, identity-related concerns and spirituality (including difficulties with belief systems). I take a sex positive approach. Poly and kink friendly. I only commit to working with as many clients as I have time to dedicate to on a regular basis and without session limits. This means that our meeting frequency will be whatever we collaboratively decide, from as frequently as twice per week to monthly check ins. I do not directly bill insurance but am happy to provide you with a superbill (to apply for reimbursement with out-of-network benefits). I provide all services via HIPAA-compliant teletherapy software. I am licensed as a clinical psychologist in California and Virginia and possess an E. Passport and Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (PSYPACT), which means I am able to provide teletherapy to people who are in any of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia (Washington, DC), Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.
