Introduction

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 16 years of experience treating adults in individual, group, and couples/marital therapy. I am a licensed psychologist in the States of Virginia, New York, and California. I am a PSYPACT member offering telepsychology in AL, AZ, CO, DE, DC, GA, IL, KY, MD, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, and VA. In 2005, I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). I completed an internship at the Syracuse Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where I obtained specialized training treating post-traumatic stress disorder, behavioral health psychology, and marital and couple’s therapy. In 2007, I completed a forensic, postdoctoral fellowship through the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry. In 2017, I completed a Post-Doctoral Masters Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Life is unpredictable and ever-changing, challenging us to adjust and overcome difficulties. Sometimes the sources of our stress come from places that we least expect including family, friends, work, health, past memories, exposure to distressing life events, grief and loss, and more globally – concerns for humanity. You are not alone in your thoughts and feelings. I would be happy to work with you to identify areas to improve in your situation and integrate those insights into actionable living. I work with individuals and couples to address a range of life experiences across the adult life span. I specialize in working with clients who are seeking support with interpersonal effectiveness, self-esteem and dating, adjustment to life changes, occupational stress, family and relationship concerns, consensual non-monogamy, grief and loss, and trauma-focused work, and will meet you where you are at with these experiences (among others!). In addition, I incorporate my knowledge of biological science to help inform my practice by considering the potential impact of your physical health conditions on your emotions and behaviors. Although I do not prescribe medications, I can help facilitate referrals to appropriate prescribing and specialty medical providers, if needed. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist, integrating neuro-biological science with positive psychology. In therapy, we’ll work together to identify goals to help you resolve stressors, and strengthen resiliency to reach your optimal potential. I believe in the power of thought + action. I will encourage you to think differently about your situation (cognitive) and develop optimal ways of responding to relationships and life stressors (behavioral). I create a non-judgmental space, grounded in principles of psychological safety and empathy. Psychotherapy can help you get to a place of emotional and psychological well-being. I look forward to starting that process with you so that you can reach your optimal potential. If there were ever a time for change – it’s now! Let’s begin…
