Dr. David Katzenstein, DSW LCSW-R is a Brooklyn-based licensed psychotherapist who treats adults, couples, children and adolescents. In his practice he sees individuals with a host of issues including anxiety, depression, abuse/trauma, behavioral addictions, self-esteem, and family and relationship conflict. He has advanced clinical training in a number of evidenced-based practices including CBT, ACT, EMDR, as well as psychodynamic approaches, and is nationally certified in the treatment of PTSD. Dr. Katzenstein collaborates with each client to develop a highly tailored treatment plan which best suits the needs of the individual. The goal of therapy is for each client to become his or her own therapist; to develop the skills and tools needed so that one doesn't need therapy forever. He firmly believes in both the process and practical components of therapy- that talking about one's challenges in a safe, warm environment is inherently therapeutic, but one also needs practical tools and skills to make real and long-lasting changes. As a practicing therapist and an Adjunct Professor of Psychology, Dr. Katzenstein understands the importance of receiving empathetic and effective care for your or your child. If you are looking for qualified, experienced and compassionate therapist, call or e-mail anytime. Sunday appointments available. Teletherapy through an online secure platform is now being offered as well. His office is conveniently located in the heart of Midwood. Free initial phone consultation.
